I have devoted the last 13 years to education in
which I have taught both junior high and elementary Science and English
Language Arts as well as worked in an Instructional Technology role in Lamar CISD
and Katy ISD. My driving passion is working with educators and learners to
integrate technology to help revolutionize today’s classroom into one of the
21st century. My areas of interest include inquiry-driven project based
learning,
B-Y-O-Device mobile
learning environments, social media professional development, and working with
educators to be better designers of learning activities.
As a professional leader, I am a Microsoft Innovative Educator Master Trainer, Discovery Educator Network Star Educator, certified SMART Trainer and an active member of ISTE, TCEA, and several educational technology Special Interest Groups. In the summer of 2011, I also had an opportunity of a lifetime to be one of two educators in the U.S. to be a part of the first Partners in Learning Global Institute. I was able to spend one week collaborating with 49 other amazing educators from around the world (33 different countries) in which I maintain close relationships both personally and professionally. I also have had the opportunity to participate in the US Forum in 2011 and 2012 highlighting projects in which I have worked on with educators and learners across the world.

Aside from always
working (yes, I’m kind of a workaholic), I enjoy spending quality time with my
family and friends, traveling, doing anything outdoors (esp. scuba diving),
watching movies, and researching the latest gadgets.
